Week Five Wrap Up

Another green week down...and only one more to go! Take a look at the sideshow to SEE the fun we've had. Here's five things for the fifth week:

1. Fantastic Performers. We were so fortunate to have wonderful performers and guests this week! On Wednesday, we welcomed Emily Chetkowski of the famous Mabel books. She even brought animal friends along with her! On Thursday, Dora the Explorer came! She was so nice and we loved taking pictures with her. (Did you know Dora goes to birthday parties??? She does! For more information, ask us at the children's department!)

2. Fabulous Art. Have you seen the art that has been growing around this place?? It's incredible! Since the beginning of the summer reading program we have made carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, corn, and sunflowers. And, we're not done! Guess what we are making next week?? You'll have to stop by to find out!

3. FUN! Every time you come into the children's department during summer reading, there is so much FUN to be had. You can take guesses at the guessing jar, or produce of the week, or you play in a sand pit, or follow ants, or so, so much more!

4. Furry Friends This year you have an opportunity to "Read to Help" where proceeds will be given to the Dakin Animal Shelter. If we receive 50 tickets, we will give $50. If we receive 100 tickets, we will give $100. And, our library director is matching the donation up to $100!!! I can't wait to share with you just how generous our readers have been!!

5. FRIDAY! Next Friday, July 30th at 4:30 summer reading comes to a close. Which means, that all your hours and tickets must be in by then. When will all those cool prizes be given out? At the Interskate 91 roller skating party 8/10, we will anounce the winners. (Your ticket to the party is in the 10 hour coupon pack- if you're not at the party don't worry we'll call you)

Woah, that is a FANTASTIC FIVE!
