A Special Guest...

You will never believe who is making an appearance next week at the library! I will give you three clues: 1.) She is a dog, 2.) She speaks!, 3.) She loves alphabet soup!

I bet you figured it out! It's Martha from Martha Speaks the great PBS show and book series. Well, she will be here next Wednesday (August 26th) at 1pm to visit with us! So, be sure to stop in and get a chance to meet the amazing talking dog!

All ages are welcome and there is no registration required!

See you there! Oh, and don't forget to bring your camera!

It was a GREAT PARTY!

What a great end to the Summer Reading Program! The East Longmeadow Library "Roller Skating Party" was a wonderful evening of fun. There was music, dance AND the announcement of this summers Reading Club prize winners! The names of the winners will be posted in the Children's Department. Thank you and congratulations to all participants.

Just a reminder, while we have enjoyed an amazing display of at-home mission "space machines" this summer, the time has come to say good-bye to them. Please come into the Children's Department to pick up your machine or call and let us know when you can come in.

Now, thinking about picking things up, we have quite a large collection of lost items. We have hats, sweaters, toys and even shoes! So, check your closets and drawers because, if something is missing you might find it here in the Children's Department of the East Longmeadow Library!

"When will the Story-time registration be?" was the question of the week and the answer is Wednesday, September the 23rd at 9:30 am (in person), and after 10 am (by phone) for East Longmeadow residents! Thursday, September 24th we will accept registrations from anyone else, as space permits. We will be offering programs for Parents & Two's, Preschool Story-times, Art workshops, Book groups and more! So, mark the date and watch for our upcomming September calander.

What a BLAST!

"Starship Adventure" officially came to a close this Friday....and boy have we had fun!!! We have followed rockets to the moon, seen HUGE bubbles, danced to great music, been amazed by science, and most importantly read GREAT books and met GREAT new friends!

We want to thank all of our terrific performers for making the summer reading program so successful. We also want to thank our wonderful volunteers who have worked so hard this summer! AND, we want to THANK YOU for reading and participating in all the fun!

Take a look at our slide show featuring our last week of "Starship Adventure" and the make-your-own space machines you all worked so hard on! They are OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD!

Also, remember to join us this Thursday at 11am outside of the Little Red School House for a teddy bear picnic! (Weather permitting)
