Do you like to paint? We need painting help from kids in grades 3 - 6, so we're having a paintfest! We are making really cool banners to hang in our windows during the Wild Reads summer reading program. The banners will show four different animal habitats: rain forest, desert, ocean, and woodland forest.
There are 2 paintfest dates: Tuesday, June 3, and Tuesday, June 10 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. So mark your calendars!
PS - wear clothes that can get a little paint on them!
Hey, all, the library will be closed this Monday, May 26, 2008 for Memorial Day. What is Memorial Day, you ask? Here are a couple of websites that have interesting information about Memorial Day.
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 10 at 11:00! Dads and kids are invited to the Children's Department for some stories and a special project for Mother's Day. (It's an early treat for Mom--some alone time!)
This week come in for our special pre-Mother's Day storytimes. We'll read some stories, sing some songs, and make a craft (shhhh. . .don't tell Mom, but it's a special gift for her!) Check out the Week-at-a-Glance on the right for the schedule and whether sign up is required.
The East Longmeadow Library May Reading Challenge! Come in to the Children's Department and get a game sheet. Then read (or be read to) half an hour per week, fill out your butterfly game sheet, and bring it in to receive a prize! Bea - u - ti - ful butterlies. . .
